It should withstand being unfastened by shock, vibration, and other pressures since its locking action is produced by the deformation of its highest threads. This Lock Nut has a self-contained function that causes frictional interference between joining parts' threads. Because the prevailing torque decreases with each use of the nut, it can only be reused so many times.
